ANCHORAGE, Alaska(AP) Greg Avery scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half to lift Western Carolina to a 76-62 win Friday night over Louisiana Tech in the consolation bracket of the Great Alaska Shootout.

Avery's three 3-pointers midway through the second half were part of a 16-3 run that turned a three-point lead into a 62-43 advantage with 8:43 remaining.

Brandon Giles had 15 points for Western Carolina (2-2).

Kenneth Cooper led the Bulldogs (2-3) with 13 points. Magnum Rolle had 11 and Kyle Gibson and Brandon Gibson had 10 each.
