NEW YORK(AP) Charron Fisher had 30 points and 14 rebounds to help Niagara beat St. John's 77-73 on Saturday.


Stanley Hodge added 17 points for the Purple Eagles (5-3) in their first victory over the Red Storm at Carnesecca Arena - formerly Alumni Hall - since 1963. Tyrone Lewis had 14 points, and Anthony Nelson 12 for Niagara.


Larry Wright led St. John's (4-2) with 18 points. Justin Burrell added 13 points and 10 rebounds.


In a game in which the lead changed hand 10 times, Niagara took a 69-68 lead on Demetrius Williamson's 3-pointer with 2:45 to play.


The Purple Eagles made it 75-70 on Fisher's two free throws with 21 seconds to play.


Wright hit a 3-pointer with 17 seconds remaining to pull the Red Storm within two, but Lewis and Hodge each went 1-for-2 at the line to put the game away.


St. John's leads the series 71-26.
