North Carolina effectively handled N.C. State last night, further cementing their status as top dog in the ACC. Roy Williams, however, didn't really have a predictable reaction. See, normally, you expect Williams to toast everyone with a Coca-Cola and to throw out an "Aw, shucks, ya'll" to help complete his public persona.Instead of doing that, though, when repeatedly asked by ACC writer Andrew Jones about his team's inability to properly apply full court defensive pressure, he let loose with a little F-bomb.
If I knew the answer to that, do you still think we'd be $#&%-ing stinking? Everybody strike that f-word, I meant to say 'frickin.' Seriously, if you think I could figure it out, don't you think I would do it?You can also hear the audio at 850 the Buzz if you're so inclined (NSFW) and basically when he drops the F-bomb, everyone breaks out laughing. Unfortunately, as WRAL's Jeff Gravely pointed out, you can't "strike live interviews."
It's not that big a deal; Williams has dropped an "S-bomb" on live television before, but it does speak to his two separate identities. As far as most of the public knows, Williams is a congenial Southerner who won't even let obscenities into his practice. Several of the public slips, though, tell us something different.

Typical of Roy Williams and UNC. They act like they are perfect in the world of basketball and do no wrong. Just like Tyler Hansborough, everyone says how good he is, but he really is just a big baby who whines when things don't go his way our pouts like a baby when he gets elbowed or knocked down. They may be good but they are not the perfect team that graduates 100 percent of their classes. Grow up Roy.

Your telling me you've never cursed before, We're all human. I bet your just alittle half wit who doesnt know crap about unc nor from your post about basketball, getting elbowed or knocked down is a (FOUL) im sorry you couldnt get a hold of a rule book.
Tyler Hansborough and Roy Willams are not perfect but they try their hardest as a coach and a player, and you cant blame neither of them for wanting to do their best or showing a little bit of frustration.

VB you are clearly a disgruntled DOOK fan. I would like to see your reaction after catching 1 tenth of the abuse Hansbvrough takes. He is far from pouty and is way tougher than you give him credit for. You need to suck in your pouty lip and realize Dook just don't got it this year!

Nope not any specific fan, just watch basketball and all I see is Tyler whining all the time and with that stupid dazed look on his face. And yes I played college volleyball and basketball and have taken many hits and elbows and knocked down. Got back up and kept fighting. Now he has a concussion, anything to make excuses for him.

Broken nose, Hurt Shins, Concussion How much more will it take? Maybe ending his basketball career next? and whether you like him or not his determination and respect for the game is uncanny.
how many records has he broken? take a look at his awards list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler_Hansborough

You are an uneducated a-hole when it comes to basketball. Tyler takes a beating and the refs let it go, but that is ok you are jealous because UNC is so good. Maybe we need to get you on the court with Tyler and the guys and rough you up a little. Coach K and Gary Williams are the grand whiners and Steve Spurrier is the grand whiner of football.

LOL) Hey, they're just people like the rest of us...I think it's funnt because he is usually so together! LOL

VB I think it is great that you played such a heavy contact sport as volly ball, that heavy ball can rais a nasty welt when it smacks you in the head. As far as playing basketball I think you are full of crap, if you had you would know what skill looks like. I bet you are just jealous since you couldn't even play in a European league.

I've been a Duke fan for many years. Hansbrough is a very talented player. Hard to admit, but true. He and the Tarheels are doing to the Duke faithful, what Laettner did to the Carolina faithful in the early 90's. These schools go back and forth. Ya gotta luv it. Laettner won two NCAA Championships, and had a 13 yr. career in the NBA. Let's see if Hansbrough can do the same.

Well said. Yes, Tyler is a talented player as is Ty Lawson, Danny Green and Wayne Ellington. It is a sign of maturity to recognize talent in an opposing team. We love to "Hate" Duke in our house but geez was it hard to NOT cheer for JJ Reddick and Laettner when they played!!! Hell, I was wishing UNC could get Vasquez to switch teams! That kid is talented and he had an AWESOME night!

Take the high road like JJ Redick, and cheer Tyler on as he nears his all-time ACC scoring record... as an Iowan, yet a Duke fan... I thank God, I know the best basketball when I see it... it is in the ACC.
