What Is Billy Gillispie's Problem With ESPN's Jeanine Edwards?

Last month we noted the above video, in which Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie responds to a question from ESPN sideline reporter Jeanine Edwards by saying, "That's a really bad question." That exchange got Gillispie some unwelcome attention, but it wasn't enough to prevent him from having another testy exchange with Edwards.

Responding to a question from Edwards, Gillispie replied sarcastically, "You know more about it than I do, obviously. Some of these things I haven't heard of."

So what's the deal between Gillispie and Edwards? Awful Announcing wrote that "Gillispie still seems to have some irrational hate for Edwards," and Sports by Brooks says it all stems from Gillispie asking Edwards out and being turned down.

Whatever is behind it, it's time for Gillispie to just start answering Edwards' questions, and stop critiquing Edwards' questions. No head coach likes dealing with sideline reporters, but unless you're Coach K, dealing with sideline reporters is part of the job. As long as you're going to deal with sideline reporters, you might as well deal with them politely.
