Brandon Costner Indicates This Is Last Year in Raleigh

Brandon Costner's time at N.C. State has been tenuous, to say the least. The only "good" times were the run in the ACC tournament that the Pack made two years ago; last year, locker room turmoil and expectations tore the team apart. This year, State has shown to good when they play well and really, really bad when they don't.

Unfortunately for Costner, it looks like his legacy will be linked directly with Sidney Lowe and these downtrodden Pack teams; he appears, based on the following quotes, headed out of Raleigh after his junior season.
NB: How many years are you planning on staying in college?
BC: This is my fourth year, so it's probably my last year.

NB: Aren't you a redshirt junior?
BC: Yeah, I am, but I'm graduating early, so I don't really want to stay too far back.

NB: You don't plan on doing a grad school year and playing your senior season [of eligibility]?
BC: No.
Now, it's worth noting that the timing on this interview, pulled from PackPride by a friend (and later seen on SFN), is a little bizarre. The article was published on January 2, 2009, but the interview allegedly comes from some training session in the summer (hence the Steve Nash mention in there.)

Regardless though, losing Costner for next season would be a tremendous blow to State's chances at being anything other than "barely decent", unless they can land both DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall. Starting Nick Horner at the three (or, gasp, four) isn't exactly a formula for success.
