My colleague, Will Brinson, noted in a brief story that Billy Packer and Bob Knight would be doing a March Madness TV show from a Las Vegas sports book. This seems to be a component of the previously announced deal with Fantasy Sports Ventures.

Billy Packer seemed to take great pains to stress that they would not mention gambling. It is unlikely, though, that there will likely be a shortage of signage, mentioning where they are and what goes on at the Wynn Las Vegas Race & Sports Book. Bob Knight was not at the press conference.

Apparently Bob Knight has softened his stance towards gambling on college sports.

Back when he was still a coach, he supported legislation that would have prohibited gambling on college sports anywhere -- specifically Las Vegas. The bill never passed, obviously, despite a couple more attempts to bring it back.

Knight is no longer a coach, so I guess his concerns over gambling on college sports are not that important. At least, not when he is getting paid.
