Even with the second week of NCAA Tournament games all taking place in the evening and the weekend -- rather than during work hours -- CBS's March Madness on Demand (MMOD) continued to put up big numbers. The total unique visitors for MMOD since the start of the Tournament has reached 4,333,207. In 2007 the number to that point was 1,753,192 unique visitors -- that's a 147% increase

Take out the numbers from last week, and MMOD took in over one million viewers for the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 last week. The previous year, MMOD had only a bit over 300,000 viewers.

As you can imagine, CBSSports.com is feeling really good about the huge growth.
"The consumer and advertising success story we've written by being the first to offer a live online broadcast of a major sporting event and on a complementary platform to television is surely something that other leagues and networks will look to replicate in the future," said Jason Kint, Senior Vice President and General Manager, CBSSports.com.
And with CBS's infrastructure that they have built for MMOD, they are better positioned to partner with other leagues interested in going this route.
