The ACC is turning into the Duke Invitational. The Blue Devils are 9-0 and coasting. One slip up: Gerald Henderson has a bum wrist. Still, the hardest part of their schedule is behind them as they are set to take another ACC crown. The ACC Power Poll for this week:
1-Duke: The Blue Devils are still undefeated with their two toughest remaining games (Maryland, UNC) at home. Also, they've beaten everyone by at least nine points.
2-North Carolina: The Heels are still 22-2, despite not having Ty Lawson for two weeks now.
3-Maryland: Drama! The suddenly hot Terps head into Cameron Indoor Stadium for a mid-week clash.
4-Clemson: Imagine how the Tigers would be perceived if they had actually finished off UNC on both occassions?
5-Georgia Tech: The Jackets deserve better than this. Another tough loss against a good team (UConn).
6-NC State: Well, the Wolfpack are good enough to beat those teams around them ... just not good enough to beat the ones ahead of them.
7-Miami: Huge win at VaTech to end skid where they lost 6 of 7. The next two weeks are horrid (at Ga Tech, Duke, Maryland, at Clemson).
8-Virginia Tech: Losses to NC State and Miami last week knock them back a bit.
9-Wake Forest: Best of the worst. And one of the better feel good stories in the nation.
10-Florida State: Huge win at Miami that leads them into a tough final stretch.
11-Boston College: Remember when this team was 3-0? That was before going 0-6.
12-Virginia: After usually putting up a fight, the Hoos have been getting spanked of late.
