As they do after every big win, the extended Wake Forest community gathered in the quad last night to "roll" the trees. But this time it wasn't in celebration of a defeat of the Heels or Devils, it was in mourning of their lost coach.
Wake is one of the smallest and most closely knit schools in all of major college sports, and Skip Prosser was a beloved and respected figure on campus. Nearly every student or staff member had had some form of contact with him, and his patience, kindness and willingness to talk with anyone were legendary. At Wake, his loss will be felt by everyone at a personal level.
With several of his former players on hand (including Chris Paul), the quad was poignantly rolled for Skip for the final time. The sad and poignant pictures tell the tale of a University that lost a beloved family member yesterday.

There is a differance between our close loved one dying and some one well known in the media dying. This is the only way fans of Skip Prosser who only knew him thru the media can send their respect. Just as our loved one touched lives this man touched hundreds of lives because of his position. He was a postive image hear on earth. There are so many people now in the limelight that are not. Lets give credit to the good ones. My son played for him and he still talks about things Coach taught him concerning life. God Bless the family of Coach Prosser

We too spent last night at midnight rolling the trees in front of our apt building all the way across the country. Skip was a very good representative of Wake Forest and we will miss him greatly. RIP Skip.
Our tribute to Skip is here:

One of my ex-coworkers at my current lab was a Wake Forest alum. My sympathies to the Wake Forest community.
