BREAKING: This is still technically at the rumor stage as of 7:55AM EDT, but it is being widely reported that the University of Kentucky will announce Billy Gillispie as their next head coach at 12:45 PM EDT today (Friday.) The official website of the Wildcats, UKAthletics.com, is running the story minus the name of the head coach at this web address.

Gillispie is reportedly Kentucky's third choice after Florida's Billy Donovan and Texas' Rick Barnes.

Gillispie comes to the bluegrass from Texas A&M, where he has engineered a remarkable turnaround of the Aggies' basketball program.
