The Detroit Free Press is reporting that John Beilein has an offer from the table from Michigan and will decide sometime today -- today is Monday, for anyone like The Dude who doesn't really keep track of these things. It seems Michigan athletic director Bill Martin is playing it coy: The Free Press asked Martin via e-mail if Beilein had been offered the job and was in Ann Arbor on Sunday. Martin responded only, "If Coach Beilein was in AA today, I didn't know about it."The Detroit News' Bob Wojnowski goes a step farther in his brief article on the subject:
U-M athletic director Bill Martin has targeted Beilein all along, and according to two sources, Beilein, 54, appears willing to accept the job.Though it is noted "appears willing to" is not the world's strongest assertion, it appears that any buyout-related hurdles have been cleared and Michigan, despite the whole puppy-burning thing, has made a sufficiently enticing offer for Beilein to consider it.

Kinda funny how everybody considers WVU a nothing but let us win a few games and here they come taking our coaches. So we are a poor state, that doesnt mean we dont love our teams, and we dont bad mouth you people for your comments and we dont choke in big games. No we can't pay out the money a school like Michigan can but something needs to be done about these schools and recruiting. There is alot of good players recruited with the promise to play then the coach leaves for more money,no more promise. It's not about the kids any more or the education its about the money.
Dear Michigan First of all from this loyal WVU fan. We really hate to see our coach leave. But money talks. Youre really getting a fine coach. I really think he should win and win big. Best of luck........
First off...I'm a PITT season ticket holder. I am also an avid WVU fan as long as they're not playing PITT. I'm sorry to see Beilein make a decision to go to Michigan. We almost went through the same thing with Dixon last year. However...if he is going to mentioned for every damn job every year, maybe WVU should be pleased to see him go. He is not showing much loyalty to the Morgantown hopefuls by putting his name on the auction block for every big school coaching job that opens up. Let him go to the big 10 and let's see if he can win at UM. He may be real sorry he left the Mountain State. The grass isn't always greener.
While I wish Coach Beilein were staying I cannot help but feel the "Mountaineers" have been used for nothing more than a stepping stone. If the reports are true and he accepts the UofM position then the "EERS" were used for the past five years as fodder to feed his ego. If Coach Beilein was truly interested in developing a winner and making a run at an NCAA title he would stay put. After all, the team is returning 3 of 5 starters as well as several high caliber subs with substantial playing time during this past season. To leave at this point after such a sucessful season, in my opinion, clearly demonstrates he was never interested in establishing a winning program for the state and the university but only for himself so he could garner more of "the almighty dollar" and go to a so called higher caliber place. Well, apparently he has gotten his wish but I don't think he is going to be as successful in this new endeavor as he and the fans of UM believe he will be. WVU will find a new head coach and move and we will survive. That's what country folks do...............survive!
We welcome Coach Beilein to the University of Michigan. I was and still am a Tommy Amaker fan, and I hated to see him have to leave. However, we, like the WVU fans, want to see our school succeed. If Coach Beilein didn't want to leave WVU, he didn't have to...but we certainly welcome him and wish him the very best. I also want to wish the new coach at WVU and his players the very best...money may buy coaches but players still play the game....you can't put a price tag on heart and determination! Good luck to the Mountaineers and Go Blue!
BOO JOHN BELEIN HOPE YOU GO TO UM AND FALL FLAT ON YOUR MONEY GRUBBING FACE. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO TEAM LOYALTY?
