I think everyone just assumes we just watched the last game of the amateur portion of Greg Oden's basketball career. At least, I thought that until I heard ESPN commentator Jay Bilas after the game. Bilas said he thinks Oden is seriously considering a return to Columbus for his sophomore season and added, "He really loves college."I really loved college, too. I wouldn't have turned down a multimillion-dollar job offer to stay in college, though.
Assuming this was Oden's last game, it was a great one -- perhaps his best in a Buckeyes uniform. He had 25 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks against that outstanding Florida front line. Thanks to his teammates' horrendous three-point shooting, Oden didn't go out a winner. But he went out on top.

SOMETIMES GAMES LIKE THIS MAKE YOU WONDER.(WERE THE GATORS SUPPOSED TO WIN OR WERE THE BUCKEYES SUPPOSED TO LOSE?) CHECK THIS OUT! {GATORS 10 OF 18 3 POINTERS 55% / 22 OF 25 FOUL SHOTS 88%} (BUCKEYES 4 OF 23 3 POINTERS 17% / 11 OF 17 FOUL SHOTS 65%} THE DIFFERENCE IS 29 POINTS MORE FOR THE GATORS IN THOSE TWO STATS AND THEY ONLY WIN BY 9 POINTS. sometimes you wunder
Ohio State looked lousy from the free throw line. In contrast, Florida has some great pure shooters.
The reason Florida shot so much better from three-point range is that they have better three-point shooters.
Greg Oden will have many championship rings too make up for that lose. "thanks to his so called teamates"
He should have been playing in INDIANA anyways!
How old is Oden anyway, they guy looks 35. Are they gonna do some carbon dating.
I am still proud of the Buckeyes both the basketball and the football team. I am especially proud of our basketball team. We went far and have been coming a long way. Everyone can say what they want( haters) but you can not deny they did hold their own with the mature Florida team and they did not blow them out. Oden is only a freshman and so is Conley they are coming up. Oden did do a great job this game, only if Conley could get his in, not to mention Lewis, Butler, and Harris they would have had this game. However that is not the way it went but look out for the Bucks in '08'.
Oden is a legitimate prospect. However, unless he learns how to move those feet and control his emotions that is all that he will be. His stamina is another question that could only be answered by a serious trainer. His God given talents are without a doubt extreme; but, in the pros intelligence along with those gifts are extremely necessary. Play agains NBA centers is a great deal different than college. Odin stay at Ohio at least one more year and take a chance. Increase your stamina and hopefully NBA riches will follow. Make a bad decision and become another lost soul in the wilderness that seems to happen after a failed career in professional sports.
Greg Oden does look alot older but that has nothing to do with his awesome talent. This guy has such purity about him and his game. The only thing that he needs to work on is his breathing technique because that is when is tends to foul. As fir the other buckeye players I am proud of them. It just was not there night to win. They are a great squad who's shot just would not fall but remember they were consistently falling up to this champiionship game. They are young as well and if the players stay watch out for some GREAT BUCKEYE basketball next year(this is coming from a TARHEEL FAN)just keeping it real.
I think greg will return for at least one more year, and wont it be nice buckeye fans, next year when he needs a rest we will have another 7'er coming off the bench to replace him!
I WANTED BUCKEYES TO WIN ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE BIG 10. I GET TIRED OF HEARING THEM FLAP THEIR MOUTHS ALL THE TIME.
I think that both teams played a wonderful game. I hope that both coaches feel very proud of their players.
I hope Greg Oden does return to college. I have a son that plays basketball and if he makes it I would like for him to go to college first. I feel like if a the NBA wants you they will want you when you are ready. Two thumbs up to Noah smart move.
Congrats to both teams. Should big "O" stay or go. Well how many of you true basketball fans really remember who "O" was and what he did for the college game. But remember the game that was played was only a basketball game! We all should stop and remain silent for a moment or so and remember that there are many young men who are serving our country and we enjoyed the opportunity to take in the events we have just seen and we can write about. Congrats again to both teams, but GO BUCKEYES!
Once Oden sees the dollar bills that will be offered him, he will leave. Sorry, Buckeye Fans. Another worthless comment by Jay Bilas, a Duke education can't buy you common sense I guess.
I do hope Oden returns next year and the rest of the underclassmen. It was a bad time for our 3 pt. shooters to loose their range. If the had not we would OSU would have been National Champs. To all you Gator Fans I WE OSU WOULD HAVE PLAYED THE FOOTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 1-2 WEEKS AFTER THE SEASON WAS OVER WE WOULD HAVE KICKED YOUR BUTTS WORSE THAN 41-14
NCAA hoops is a joke anymore in the sense that kids these days think that because they're 7 feet tall and have a few good games that they're ready for the NBA. BULL****!!! Oden may have dominated some good players in college. (Just to set the record staight, I am a HUGE Buckeye fan) and I thought that we had some student/athletes, but that term is an oxymoron anymore and it is ridiculous. When the likes of Shaq and Ben Wallace get him down on the block or in the paint that KID is going to get taken to school even after he leaves. So to anyone out there who thinks he is making a WISE decision sit back and thinto yourself, MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING and he should really fine tune his game before he goes and makes a fool of himself. Ever heard of Maurice Clarett? And don't eevn get me started on Cook that kid played well for a while against so so talented teams then when we got to the tourney he flopped like a fish. That boy is living in fantasyland.
