Memphis big man Joey Dorsey wants to let you know that he's not intimidated by going up against Ohio State's Greg Oden this afternoon. Dorsey, the 6-foot-9 junior who will draw the task of matching up with Ohio State's 7-footer, called Oden "a lot overrated" Friday. "I think (the pro scouts) will really be watching this game (Saturday) night because it's two great big men going against each other," Dorsey said. "I'm an underrated big man and he's a lot overrated as a big man. It's going to be a great rebounding game for me. I'm going to try to outrebound him."
Oh, it's on. Actually, Dorsey and Oden are approximately equal as rebounders; Dorsey is as good as you'll ever see on the offensive end, while Oden is a bit better on the defensive glass. It wouldn't be particularly noteworthy if Dorsey does, in fact, outrebound Oden.
But I like Dorsey's confidence here. Although he's obviously not as well regarded by pro scouts as Oden, you can make the case that Dorsey is the better college player. And if he's playing today with a chip on his shoulder, it'll make the game a little more interesting.

BOth of these guys have anger issues. They might both get tossed before halftime. The refs have kind of a double edged sword to wield here. They are a couple of dudes who are foul proned for sure. YOu want to let these players play but at the same time, it is basketball right? Like last night when they let the Florida big men just back all the way to the basket over and over reguardless of who is behind them. Pretty much a foul in every basketball rule book ever made. No call = Florida win. Call the foul = Florida loses.

Harry, you're a moron - watch the replay of Horford's dude giving up ground every time he backed towards the basket, and then tell us why the ref didn't call a charge, ok?

HAHAHA Joey Dorsey are you serious? He had more fouls than he did points, I think Oden make it clear who the better player and team was!

It looks like the only thing that is underrated on Dorsey is his mouth!

GUF... you're a moron. Butler's was was giving up ground because Horford was damned near knocking him off his feet with the size difference. By rule it should have been called... In reality, it almost never is unless the defender goes down. I'll bet the next player Horford trys that move on goes down.

A perfect example of why players shouldnt trash talk to the Media.....
Dorsey....3 reb, 0 pts in 19 minutes
Oden......9 reb, 17 pts in 24 minutes
In fact of 9 players OSU put on the floor during the game 8 outscored Dorsey and 6 matched or bettered his rebound total.

Joey "Goliath" Dorsey aka Joey "20 rebound" Dorsey is entitled to his opinion. The 1st amendment gives him that right. Some things are better left unsaid.
Like the stat line from today's game.
Greg "David" Oden marches on to Atlanta.
For future reference Mr. Dorsey: Goliath LOST!

Greg Oden is overrated he is very soft and is no threat or a power down low. Joey Dorsey proved his self this year down here in memphis. If you look at the last game greg oden only had 7pts and 4 rebs. come on to be as big as he is he should be dominating the center postion. I hope he does not come out this year cause he will be a big "FLOP" in the league. The only thing greg oden has is that he went to the same high school as Eric Montross and I went to in Indianapolis, IN and that is Lawrence North. But ERic Montross went on to North Carolina in 1990 and went on to win a national championship there also. Greg Oden will only have a state high school ring nothing else. "GO TIGERS GREAT SEASON CANT WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR".

"NOT A THREAT OR A POWER DOWN LOW"??? Did you even WATCH the game or did you just look at the stats in the paper? He does a LOT of positive things. Some of which there are no stats for. Like blocking the final and potentially winning shot. He is a presence... a BIG one. There's no telling how many shots were altered or passed up because of the pressure and havoc he creates under the basket. As a contributing member of a team, he knows his job and he does it. Otherwise, he wouldn't be there.

The only thing Dorsey did was embarrass himself as greg oden dominated him and the paint. It's not just about points and rebounds, but the impact he made on Memphis when he was in the paint defensively. Dorsey got punked, stop the G.O. Hating.
