The Hoyas play ugly. They disguise their by weaknesses with tough defense and plastering Patrick Ewing's ugly mug on the jumbotron every game. Goodness knows that's enough to stun even the most seasoedn of teams. The refs called the game too tight and this led to them missing the obvious around the world trip Jeff took. Even if that travel was called the game wouldn't have ended. There's no excuse for the choke job Vandy laid down with two time outs left and plenty of time for a good look.

The officiating toward the end of this game was totally criminal. I just saw the end (after FL vs. Butler) and the refs were obviously throwing the game to Georgetown. Only an idiot could argue that it may have just appeared that way on TV...TOTALLY obvious.

The Florida/Butler game was even worse. That was the most corrupt officiating I have even seen in 30 years playing and watching basketball. I'm just glad none of my Gators were injured in two halves of being hacked, shoved and bumped right to the floor without a foul call...truly a disgrace.

I don't know who owns the referees in this tournament. It could be a consortium from Vegas, the mob, or just the NCAA trying to keep it close and interesting. Whoever it is, I wish they would be caught and punished...severely!!

CBS is doing a terrible job with their game selection. They should move back and forth more often. Coverage is far to narrow!

Yeah, and the refs shouldn't have called that ticky-tack, shoulder-bump foul against Seton Hall with five seconds left years ago, giving the championship to Glen Rice's Michigan team.

And the NE Patriots had to deal not only with the flu, incompetant wideouts, and practice squad players seeing playing time for the first time all year during this year's AFC Championship, but four lousy, crucial calls, any one of which, if called correctly, would've given us another Pats-Bears Super Bowl and yet another case of the Peyton Manning face.

And Bill Lambier didn't foul Kareem in the closing seconds of Game 6 of the '88 Finals, though the zebras saw it differently, resulting in unearned back-to-back trophies for Magic and LA.

The list goes on. Jorge Orta. Ben Drieth. The phantom foul on Dwayne Wade in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Etc. Get used to it. That's life. That's sports.

I find it amusing that you guys place the outcome of a 40 minute game on one play...I had no interest in this game, other than as an NCAA Tourney fan and bracket "filler-outer."

Oh, I think Kobe traveled on his way to 50 tonight...He probably had his foot over the foul line when he hit 16 of 16, too...

Another game handed to the "Majors" by the refs. Mark my words CBS, NCAA, and NIKE (official sponsor of the NCAA...just watch the NCAA rep to the pairings announcement interview and what he was wearing noticeably) have the fix in to have all major seedings advance to the "final 8" so they can talk about it. That was a major comment in todays pregame show !!!! NCAA, CBS, and NIKE are afraid of the understarts like Xavier, Vanderbilt, Southern Illinois etc.

The CBS sports announcers claimed that it is traveling to lift your pivot foot before you shoot. This is NOT true. Both the NBA and NCAA rule books clearly state that it is fine to lift your pivot foot as long as the ball leaves your hand before it touches the ground again.

I can't believe basketball commentators can make such an idiotic mistake. One of the basic fundamentals of officiating is that a player cannot travel during a dribble. When Green regains possession of the loose ball he clearly establishes his right foot as his pivot foot. He pivots and pivots and shoots what constitutes a hook shot. If you can't lift your pivot foot to shoot then nothing but an old-fashioned set shot is legal.

What about all the crank calls the refs were making against Georgetown down the stretch. They were bad refs and were trying their best to force GU into defeat. One missed travel doesn't mean much... es[pecially when they were hacking Green to death.

As a fan and referee I know I miss alot on the football field with everything going on but this is just to obviuos come on u have three guys out there in a much smaller area to cover and you miss a call like this. I am neither a fan of both these teams but you got to make the call. the other night I was watching Tenn and Ohio ST game with 3.1secs the ball was in bounded by Tenn they miss the in bound pass and seemed a player from Ohio touched the ball they took off 1.1 sec which seemed that it was too musch time taken off the clock Tenn got the ball back at half court with 2.0 left and lost the game it might seem that the refs do have thier favorites and maybe these were both the cases

SIU and Tennessee....had bad calls throughout the second half that swung the game in favor of the #1 seeds, as well. Interesting that #1 is playing #2 seeds, with exception of Wisconsin, poor officiating in favor of the top seeds could have something to do with this. Kansas was given 2 basket interference baskets..or...SIU wins. Check OSU's free throws compared to UTs !!! "Ky Wildcat Fan"

I'd just like to say to No.11, He moved and replaced both feet before he turned around to shoot. I saw the replay. The SIU game was bad with 4 Points difference the other way. Goaltending not called and shot after the clock expired. Refs use the monitor to see at the half, so what is the difference. I want to see fair calls, thats all.
Now if the ref can look at and use the monitor to change clock and adjust time while using a stopwatch and no way to prove time is accurate comparing tape to a actual time piece, they should be able to look at the monitor to review a call of any kind. The guys annoucing the game can make an accurate call, so the refs should too!

Vandy fans your team played well, congrats on the hard fought game. But come on, why all the hoya hate! There were several calls that could have gone either. Vandy clearly excelled in the first half, but Gtown came back strong in the second. Again, congrats to Vandy on a great season.

REFS DON'T HAVE ANY CREDIBILITY ANYMORE. I AM ONE OF THE STRONGEST UNION GUYS YOU WOULD EVER KNOW. I WOULDN'T CROSS A PICKET LINE SET UP BY MAIDS AT A HOLIDAY INN BUT I WOULD CROSS A PICKET LINE SET BY REFS AND I WOULD HAND THEM A LETTER EXPLAINING MY REASONS. THEY ARE THE ONLY PROFESSION THAT CAN DECIDE WHO WINS OR LOOSES, THEY CAN SHAVE POINTS, THEY CAN CHANGE MOMENTUM, ETC.

I really didn't care who won the Georgetown-Vandy game. And bad/missed calls are just part of the game. But I am offended by the people on this comment board who claim that Jeff Green didn't travel before his shot. He clearly traveled 2 or 3 times during the "moves" he put on the Vandy defenders. Anyone who can't tell that is either dishonest or blind or doesn't know enough about basketball to submit a comment to a board like this.
