As slinky Virginia Commonwealth point guard Eric Maynor repeatedly abused Duke's Greg Paulus - and whomever else wanted to get crossed up - in the final minutes of the Rams' scintillating upset of the Blue Devils, I couldn't help but think, 'Dang, Maynor looks a lot like a blend of Stephon Marbury and Jason Terry.'Hence the photo of Marbury and Terry (from 2004, when JT was buried in purgatory, er, Atlanta). Maynor's body frame is much like Terry's - lithe and elastic-like, yet durable. His first step is a lethal crossover, much like Marbury had during his early years.
This is not to say that with some three-point work, Maynor will be the next [enter name here], but at this point in his development, that's who he reminds me of. Just a sophomore, Maynor's got the quick hands of a pest on defense (ask George Mason about this), and he's mostly unstoppable on offense.
While I'm at it - Maynor vs. Paulus is another example why nobody should put any stock in McDonald's All-Americans. Though Paulus had one of his best scoring games of his career against VCU, he's not nearly the player Maynor is at either end of the floor.
