UCLA knocked off Washington State, 53-45, to wrap up its second consecutive Pac-10 title and 25th conference title in school history. And really, UCLA winning seems natural. Seriously, was anybody prepared to live in a world where Washington State was the best basketball team in the Pac-10? Having the Cougars win the title would have been awkward. Not that Wazzu is a bad team. It just doesn't look right. Kind of like Ashlee Simpson's new face.

UCLA probably locked up the national No. 1 seed in the tournament. The Bruins went into a hostile environment against a good team to secure the Pac-10 title. The Tar Heels couldn't do that. Florida couldn't do that. UCLA is the best college hoops team in the country right now. And it doesn't seem close.

The most impressive part of the victory was that the Bruins were able to win, despite a miserable game from the three-point line. UCLA was 2-13 on three-point attempts, but the defense and great shooting from the field (over 50%) pushed the Bruins to the title.
